Milani vs Clinique – Which Foundation is Better?

This year is the year for new foundations for me, I have done so many new first impressions and its only March! However, I do get a lot of enjoyment from finding a new holy grail product though, thats probably why I like trying new makeup out so much. Another thing what I like finding is a really good dupe, which costs a fraction of the price, is there anything better? I think not!

I have previously done a review on the Clinique “Beyond Perfecting” foundation and concealer which you can read here but, I saw that Milani brought out a very similar product, the Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer (long ass name) and I had to pick it up to see if they did the same job. If you read my Clinique review you know I actually really liked it, it is super full coverage and literally covered eventing on my face. I did get it in quite a dark colour, so its more a foundation what I wear in the summer time.

Clinique “Beyond Perfecting” Foundation and Concealer

Clinique “Beyond Perfecting” Foundation Claims

A foundation and concealer in one for a natural beyond perfected look that lasts all day. Lightweight, moisturising make up covers thoroughly without clogging pores. Skin breathes comfortably, colour stays true, even through sweat and humidity. For complete coverage, dot on all over face and blend. Use the unique applicator to spot conceal.

Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer Claims

A full coverage concealer and liquid foundation in one ideal for creating an even, faultless base. Conceal + Perfect 2 In 1 Foundation + Concealer applies seamlessly over the face offering a flawless, matte complexion eradicating the need for a separate concealer. The richly pigmented formula needs just one layer for a naturally perfected, water resistant veil that covers everything from blemishes and redness, to dark circles leaving behind a perfected canvas ready to create your desired look.

As you can see, these are the claims from both foundations, and they are very similar and claim to around the same things. They both claim to be full coverage, where you don’t need a concealer on top. I can now say from the start that I personally would always wear a concealer, not necessarily for more coverage but, to give my face more dimension.

The Clinique foundation I would personally say is more full coverage than the Milani one, as when I apply the Clinique foundation I don’t need to add any more after the first layer. But, with the Milani foundation, I need to apply a lot more. I also like the finish the Clinique foundation a lot more as well.

One thing what I do like about the Milani foundation is the packaging, I like a pump as it makes it so much easy to apply, and you can control the amount of product you want to use. With the Clinique foundation you have a different applicator, its like a big doe foot, and I personally had to keep going into the bottle to get the amount of product I wanted.

The price is also a bit of a difference, the Clinique foundation is £25 where the Milani is £13 which is basically half the price. I do use both of these foundations quite a lot, as I do really like both. I like to use the Milani more because, its cheaper and I don’t mind using a cheaper foundation more than my more expensive ones.  All in all, if you don’t mind spending money of a foundation then I would say get the Clinique one but, if you are like me and want the same affect for less, buy the Milani one instead.

Interesting read. I have yet to try Milani products bu the more I read about them the more I wan to try them. I have tried this foundation and didn’t have a good time with it. But hey, that’s just how it is with combo skin.

There blushers and bronzers are meant to be really nice, thats what I’m planning to try next! and ahh thats no good, some foundations can just be a hit or miss can’t they xx

  • I love fuller coverage bases but the Milani one just looked awful on my skin for some reason. My skin is clear but it made it look horrid. I picked up a sample of the Clinique one and I am loving it!

  • I love both although the one from Clinique just edges ahead a little. Xx

No problem! Aha and I do love a good dupe myself 😊

  • Ah yeah the applicator for the Clinique is probably one of it’s biggest downsides
