Hit or Miss – L.A Girl PRO Coverage Foundation

I have another first impressions foundation review for you today, this time its more on the affordable side. My latest one was on the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation which you can read here.

Considering that review was on such an expensive foundation, I decided this time to do one on a more affordable makeup product. If you have never heard of L.A Girl before, its an American based company which, sadly aren’t available in the UK drugstores. However, you can still get their products online, and this is how I got mine. BeautyBay is probably the best place to get it from, and its only £11.

Foundation Background Info

“Lightweight, full coverage foundation ideal for creating a flawless finish. Developed to deliver seamless results every time, the PRO.Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Liquid Foundation is perfect for creating looks that last. The weightless, hydrating formula glides onto the skin imparting gentle hydration and incredible coverage so you can create radiant camera ready finishes whilst caring for your skin.” – Beauty Bay website.

On the website it has 16 shades available but, only 9 to buy right now (I’m assuming the rest aren’t in stock). This is a fair range of colours, obviously there could be more darker and lighter ones. For me personally, I got the shade Fair, and it is quite dark for my very pale skin but, I can make it work for me.  You get 0.95 Fluid Ounces which is 28 mL, this is not the average but its a fair amount of product.

First Impressions / Final Thoughts

I have had this foundation for quite a while now, so I may not remember exactly how I felt on the first day but, I do have some ideas. Firstly, I noticed the packaging, it has a clear bottle with a black lid. It isn’t glass, which I don’t personally mind because it means it won’t smash, and you can take it traveling. I also really like the fact that it has a pump, as it makes it so much easier to apply and not to waste product.

When I first pumped it onto my hand, it was quite thick meaning that it should be quite a full coverage foundation. This is obviously what I wanted, from a foundation what claims to be pro coverage in the title. It doesn’t really have a smell, which is also something what doesn’t really affect me.

Applying it to my face was fine, you can apply how much you want as it is quite build-able. I would agree that it is very lightweight, it literally doesn’t feel like anything on your face. I would say this was a dewy finish foundation but, if you had oily skin you defiantly could still wear this with a powder.

Honestly, I wear this foundation everyday now, it is so easy to use and blends like a dream. For £11, I defiantly think its worth the money. Another really big positive is that, it lasts all day. This is good for people who are out all day, and need their foundation to not fade. I really like this foundation, and i’m so glad I got it, and I will repurchase when I finish it all up.
